PRINTS: NUDES

I love the idea of making prints available so that more people have the opportunity to enjoy my art. These images span several years. Some are originally created on paper or canvas, scanned into my computer with color and other design elements added - like some lines from my poems. I am always creating new work. Some started as life drawings from models. You will notice some compositions repeat with color variations. Please feel free to contact me with questions and/or requests.

PRINTS: MUSIC, DANCE & THEATER

Created from works on paper and canvas to celebrate musicians, dancers and theater people. I enjoy drawing while listening to music and go out to hear live music often. I play piano now and then. I've designed art for various jazz festivals and private clients.

PRINTS: MY RIGHT HAND

Thoughts on what the right hand means to me. I am a southpaw first, then later became ambidextrous as an artist. I got a trigger finger and arthritis problems. So I made a series featuring my X-rays juxtaposed with other pictorial elements on themes that are one syllable and rhyme with "be". I am thinking it's a poster for a good cause.

DRAWINGS

Expressive works on paper, including simple ink and pencil drawings . Also compositions in color using various media, including collage. Available framed (as seen) and unframed. Some unframed images are also available as giclees.

PAINTINGS

I paint on canvas and paper working from small sketches and/or spontaneously. While I studied sculpture in Art School for 4 years, I watched a lot of painters painting and am pretty much self taught. I work figuratively and like playing with theme and color variations, since color sings its own song. Line and color, a perfect marriage!

SCULPTURE: BRONZE and WAX

The Venus of Willendorf catches my eye, as do African carvings and Aztec, Mayan and Cycladic figures. They are all in my work. Here are some small bronze sculptures (under 10"). Limited edition in bronze. Contact me for pricing.

SCULPTURE: WOOD and CLAY

Featuring some work from my early days as a sculptor, working with hand tools. I especially enjoyed carving mahogany. The NESTEGG carving is oak - a crazy choice - such a hard wood - and hard labor! I can't remember now how or where I got that big piece of wood.
